Tarot Knowledge MCP
Give your MCP client access to the Fate & Stars tarot reference library: 78 cards, upright and reversed keywords, and nine reading layouts.
Connect your MCP client
Add a remote server using Streamable HTTP with this endpoint:
https://fateandstars.com/mcp
No API key or account is required. Use an MCP client that supports remote Streamable HTTP servers; its connection settings may vary. The endpoint accepts protocol POST requests, rather than a normal browser visit.
The service is stateless, returns JSON responses and allows up to 60 requests per minute per IP address. A rate limit response includes a Retry-After header. No session identifier or persistent connection is required.
Three read-only tools
get_card_meaning
Look up a card by name or slug. Choose upright, reversed or both orientations. Results include keywords, explanations, reflection prompts and a canonical source URL. Selected cards include longer researched guides; coverage varies by card. Version 1.0.1 adds section selection, brief excerpts and spelling suggestions.
Example arguments: {"card":"5 of Cups","orientation":"reversed"}
Use brief: true for plain-text excerpts of up to 360 characters per section and 320 for the overview. Without an explicit sections list, brief mode returns upright/reversed meanings according to orientation. Full content remains the default.
Example: {"card":"The Magician","sections":["love","career"],"brief":true}
Section IDs: keywords, symbolism, upright, reversed, love, career, money, yes_no, personality, advice, common_question, reading_example, comparison, sources. The career ID replaces work. Read availableSections for actual coverage; missingSections lists requested content that is unavailable or excluded by orientation. No missing content is generated. The truncated flag marks shortened excerpts.
Misspelled names return isError: true with a JSON text error containing a message and up to three suggestions. Suggestions do not silently replace your requested card. Successful results include structuredContent conforming to the advertised outputSchema; errors are carried in text content.
search_tarot_cards
Search English names, keywords, curated topics and published guide text, optionally filtered by suit or Major Arcana. Common synonyms are normalized: money/finances, career/jobs, love/relationships and hope/hopeful. Searches such as new beginnings are supported. Exact names rank highest, followed by topic tags, keywords, overview and body text. All meaningful search terms must match. Results include topics and matchReasons and are limited to 20 cards per request. An empty query lists cards.
Example arguments: {"query":"new beginnings","limit":5}
get_tarot_spreads
Retrieve the positions and purpose of nine one-card and three-card layouts. Omit spread to list all layouts, or select guidance, situation, timeline, relationship, feelings, options, career, yesno or yesnoquick.
Example arguments: {"spread":"options"}
Sources and scope
Responses draw on our published tarot card meanings and spread guides. Each result links to its relevant page so readers can inspect the original context.
This service supplies reference material. It does not draw cards, generate personalized AI readings, access accounts or retrieve reading histories. Tarot is offered for reflection and entertainment; interpretations are not predictions or professional advice.
Protocol details
Clients initialize the connection, discover tools with tools/list, and invoke them with tools/call. Send Content-Type: application/json and Accept: application/json, text/event-stream. Request bodies are limited to 32 KiB. GET and DELETE return 405 because the service does not maintain sessions or an SSE stream.
